It is nice to have windows side bar machine on your desktop. It will bring you most of the information to your desktop. This selection is ready from Windows vista. Same selection is carried out to Windows 7 also. In windows 7 this selection is disabled. To activate this selection you have to right click on the desktop and click on the Gadgets. This installation is ready only when you are enabled Uac in your Windows 7.
What will happen, if you disabled the Uac control in windows? It will just disable the sidebar gadgets option. Then how to enable this option? There are so many ways to enable it.
Windows 7 Backup
One of those recipe is using registry. We need to create one registry entry and set the value to 1, without restarting the Pc it will enable the option.
Follow the below procedure to enable or disable the gadgets option.
1. Open registry editor in your Pc by typing "Regedit" in the Run command window.
2. It will open the registry editor. ( For safe you can take the back up of existing registry)
3. examine to the registry key "Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\MicrosoftWindowsCurr entVersion\Sidebar"
4. Look for "Settings" sub key. If it is not exists, create a sub key with the name "Settings".
5. Now Click on Settings, go to the right pane and create a new Dword of 32 bit value and name AllowElevatedProcess. Set the value to 1.
6. It will enable the machine selection for you.
7. To disable the gadget, you just set the value to 0.
